I am both a learner and a teacher. Until recently, I taught in a public high school. Now I substitute teach in various districts while pursuing my PhD in Composition and Rhetoric at Wayne State University. My research interests are centered on the urban student experience, and how that experience translates into composition and rhetorical practices. I was born and raised in Detroit, and live in the Detroit area now. I will always have hope for the city–much to the chagrin of the people close to me.
My personal interests are varied. I am on a journey to become a fitter, healthier person. I also enjoy listening to and making music, experimenting with technology, swimming, and leisure reading.
